Jefferson Timber Co-op (Cohort 3) turns sawdust into sustainable products (Copy)

NextCycle Cohort 3 alum Jefferson Timber Cooperative is building a farm-to-table model for lumber on the Olympic Peninsula, connecting local growers, sawyers, and manufacturers to keep more of the timber economy's value in the community. True to the zero-waste vision the co-op brought to NextCycle Washington, offcuts, sawdust, and planer shavings are pressed into fire logs and used to fuel their wood-drying kilns rather than going to waste. The co-op is on track to process 400,000 board feet this year, with plans to double that within two years.
