ABOUT THE TEAM: Transcend (Lake Forest Park, WA) is a for-profit, woman-of-color-led fashion brand that utilizes a global supply chain to support generational craft communities and create high-quality clothing using natural fabrics and heritage techniques. Since 2020, Transcend has supported over 30 artisans across five regions of India.

ABOUT THE PROJECT: The team is bringing it mission to Washington state by pioneering a hyperlocal circular supply chain (already sourcing over 450 lbs of textile waste) that diverts pre- and post-consumer textile waste from landfills and transforms it into ready-to-wear clothing made by refugee and immigrant seamstresses in Seattle. During NextCycle, the team will refine its business model, plan for scaling through retail partnerships, and expand its network of waste recovery partners, refugee talent pipelines, and artisan collaborators.
