ABOUT THE TEAM: Central Washington University (Ellensburg, WA) is a public university committed to promoting sustainable practices and advancing applied sustainability initiatives through campus-based research, education, and hands-on experiential learning.
ABOUT THE PROJECT: The team is developing on-site composting infrastructure at CWU’s Wildcat Farm to divert organic waste from landfill disposal while producing compost for food production and campus landscaping. During NextCycle Washington, the team will refine system design, operational strategies, and partnerships needed to implement scalable composting solutions that reduce emissions and serve as a living laboratory for students.
