The NextCycle Washington Steering Committee helps shape the direction of our program ecosystem. We're looking for community members, private sector leaders and funders, and public partners who want to play an active role in building a more robust circular economy in Washington State.

    Application Description

    Join the NextCycle Washington (NCWA) Steering Committee and help shape the future of our programs. We're looking for mission-driven leaders to provide strategic guidance, ensure program quality, and support continuous improvement across our ecosystem.

    Mission Statement

    To lower barriers and expand equitable opportunities for businesses and community-based organizations to participate in and strengthen Washington state’s regional circular economy through NCWA programs and ecosystem support. 


    Responsibilities

    • Provide high-level strategic guidance 

    • Advise on major program evolution

    • Support programs in remaining mission-aligned, effective, and continuously improving

    • Form subcommittees if needed to fulfill short-term projects like new program development

    • Activities include but are not limited to:

      • Steering Committee member recruitment and onboarding

      • Reviewing outcomes from the NextCycle Accelerator 

      • Reviewing and advising on overall program success metrics 

      • Reviewing Accelerator curriculum and advising on potential changes for the upcoming program year

      • Advising on program participant and speaker recruitment and setting recruitment goals (by region, size of business, etc.)

      • Outreach for the NCWA Partner Network


    Time commitment:

    • Up to seven 90-minute meetings per year with additional, optional opportunities for engagement 

    • 12-15 hours commitment

    Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with nonprofit and small business needs and support

    • Experience in circular economy (i.e. compost, reuse, repair, waste reduction activities) or circular economy–adjacent fields

    • Experience with accelerators, grant programs, or innovation ecosystems is helpful but not required
